Q. What geographical criteria quality a school's participation in the loan program?
A. In his will, Henry Strong expressed his intention that the Educational Foundation be used for schools in Western or Southern states. The Foundation’s board has interpreted this to include Midwestern states as well, but not Eastern states. 


Q. What types of educational pursuit qualify a student's application for loan?
A. Henry Strong expressed his intent that the Foundation’s funds are to aid students "in obtaining a practical, literary, scientific, mechanical, or business education." Eligible students must be enrolled at least half-time in a graduate or undergraduate program looking towards the award of a degree by the school.


Q. What are key dates for reporting and to request funding or additional funding from the Foundation?
A. July – Participating schools’ annual accounting to the Henry Strong Foundation are due (covering May 1st through April 30th). 
August – Schools’ requests for funding or additional funding from the Foundation are due.
September – Foundation’s board of directors meet and review funding requests from schools.
October – Approved funds from the Foundation are disbursed to schools.

Q. I am a student seeking financial assistance. How do I apply for a loan from the Henry Strong Foundation?
A. The Foundation works with colleges and universities by providing funds to administer a student loan program. Contact your school's financial Aid Office to see if they receive funding from the Henry Strong Educational Foundation. If they do not, encourage them to learn more about the foundation through this website.

Q. How does a school apply for funds from the Henry Strong Educational Foundation?
A. Contact the foundation via email for more information. Applicatioins from schools are reviewed by the foundation's Board of Directors at its annual meeting each fall. If approved, the school will be asked to sign a loan administration agreement which provides broad parameters within which the loan program is to be administered.

Q. How does the school receive additional funds from the foundation?
A. Concurrent with the filing of the schools' annual accounting to the foundation, the school may file a request for additional funds from the foundation in order to expand the school's loan program.
